Carla Bruni - Quelqu`un m`a dit

當我在上揚唱片瀏覽商品的時候,發現了Carla的桌布,好奇的看著這臥在吉他旁的女人,想著她是誰?唱著什麼樣的歌曲?或許這是張吉他專輯?!正好專輯介紹有試聽,就點來聽聽,沒想到還要花點小功夫去下載RealPlayer,一聽到她的聲音的時候,完全被她的聲音給吸引了!

翻遍家裡的CD,直覺在哪聽過"Quelqu`un m`a dit" (someone told me)
最後還是想起來是ICRT上個月的French month撥出過,也的確在Music Log找到了這首歌,腦海的旋律似乎有了個歸屬!

雖然修過法文,但那些蘋果,馬鈴薯的單字哪能應付這樣整串字句,正因為聽不懂,單純聽她的聲音與音樂,覺得像是聽Carla慢慢唱出一個故事...一件事....清柔的音色,緩緩的旋律,像是低吟的娟娟流水....

It looks like we haven’t updated our blog for a while!
Fortunately, I bought a new CD! Not that “new” though, well… sometimes there are too many CDs to buy, but you just need to take your time listening to each one and trying to get the feelings and the spirits in them. Blah-blah…
Oh…that’s bullshit! If I got money, I would buy every CD!
However, one thing is real, you’ve got to listen to what’s in it!

One of the artists I like is Vanessa Carlton. She is good at playing piano and also writing songs. Also she is a young and talented singer.

Her new released single, ”White house” from the album ”Harmonium,” catch my attention. At the beginning of the song, makes me remind of piano recital, the feeling is like you are ready for your solo performance, and you want to catch everybody’s eyes on you. And then the melody turns to be crescendo, and it’s getting stronger and stronger, even makes me feel excited and free, the climax of the song is already turned to be a symphony not a solo anymore! Then the melody turns to be diminuendo, and all of a sudden, the great feelings all comes back to me, like the last seconds of a joyful roller coaster ride, the amazing experience is beyond description! I read the lyrics of “White House”. I think it quite harmonizes with the melody.

I haven’t watched this MV yet, but I heard some people give it a good appreciation. I am looking forward to it! And also enjoy the rest songs of this album.

you are listening....Three cat-cookies

"Three cat-cookies" is not my first CD, but it helped me go through a tough time.

I had depression last year, even I was used to pick some music before sleep or when I was not in a mood; I still can't find music to help me relax.

By a chance, Katherine introduce "Three cat-cookies" to me.

" Cat-cookies?!.....Well, just give it a shoot!...I can't find other good ones anyway.", I thought.

At the first, this album didn't catch me too much attention because I don't like anything about cats.

The first night, I read the inner pages about this album.

The begining of the story is sad. GuoGuo, a ten-year-old girl, who lost her loving brother, is neglected by the family. She leaves home, and tries to find the power of love and release the sadness of her brother's death. On the way, she meets a cat which gives her 3 cat-cookies as wishes to show the meaning of love and life. Finally, her innocent expression of love and emotions moves her parents and helps them recover from the sorrow also realize the circle of dark/bright sides of life. Then I started to play the music. It's amazing that it's the first time I felt relax during that hard time; my body was not tense then I started crying. The following weeks I played 3 cat-cookies before going to bed every night. I came through tears, calmness and smiles. I guess that's how GuoGuo felt!

Now, everytime I listen to "3 cat-cookies" I feel happy and calm and that's why I recommend this album to you. The produce quality is pretty good and you can not only find the creativity of music in this album but also the creation of the story and illustrations.

Still Building

高中時參加管樂隊，不僅時下流行音樂也聽，古典樂也是少不了。雖然不能說自己沉浸在音樂之中，但那時候的音感，以及對音樂的敏銳度可說是人生的一個小高峰。那時候起就很想寫寫自己對音樂的感受，一方面是想紓發自己聽後的感觸；一方面是想與朋友分享。我覺得音樂真的是無國界，雖然有時候歌曲和歌詞的契合度也要高才能傳達更確切的message。但有的時候既使歌詞不懂，歌曲的旋律仍可以引起共鳴。記得我在美國認識的韓國朋友SeungChan，聽著不懂歌詞的華語歌曲，也因而感動不已。從小到大買的專輯約有300張，有些是從電視電影廣播無意聽到，更是難以記數，雖然跟很多資深樂迷比起來並不算多，但我總有一個 “Good songs” list等著我去收藏。要去分析一張專輯或是一個Artist的音樂，對我實在是太難了！畢竟每個人聽的感受不同，所以我想以 ”分享”來替代”分析”。做主觀的”感受”代替主觀的”批判”。要分享的音樂實在是太多了，甚至一些尚未知道曲目的音樂還縈繞在我腦海裡等著我去發掘，所以這個blog的文章應該不會出現的太快 ( I hope the articles will come out faster by the time…because that might mean my expression of words and feeling is getting better…ha) Winona期望Music What You Are是一個慢工出細活的blog，敬請期待！

I've heard of Renee's voice for a while, before I know her name and her biography I think this voice must come from a lady about 30-year-old. Trust me, you won't think she is a 15-year-old girl from Texas! Her voice is a little bit sweet but also mature, skillful. The music is mainly jazz, big band. The first song I heard from her is "a love that will last", it makes me think about weekday afternoon walking by the riverside park and talking about my sweet love. then aother one "someone to watch over me" , is my favorite song ( i heard from movie Mr. Holland's opus). Her expression is a little bit sweet and bashful. I think as her age she is doing a good job already but she still has a great room for her to become more mature. at that time I think her voice will add more real story in side.

The first time i heard about his music was at a Fall Art Festival in Gainesville in last November.

It's a live show, about 4 bands was invited to this festival and Alex and his band really impressed me a lot.

actually, I just heard his music one time, his music performed that day was in his new album.

The music is like modern jazz or fusion.( i am not good at classifaction....most of the time i just enjoy the music) His music is pretty cool.....makes me feel relaxing and at the festival, everybody enjoys the music, they sit on the lawn, drink something and swinging; that is very different from people in Taiwan! I like the atmosphere in that concert. If i have another chance, I would go there again~~~
